Olde Towne Portsmouth is quickly becoming a destination location for an eclectic variety of cuisine. Pure Restaurant and Lounge is the latest fine dining experience to open in Olde Towne. This quaint establishment is located at 448 Green St. and offers a variety of southern cuisine entrees like shrimp and grits and oyster po-boys. Pure hopes to establish their niche as one of the few eating establishments in Olde Towne that specializes in weekday breakfast and brunch specials as well as seafood.

Meet our Staff: LaVoris Pace

LaVoris A. Pace, serves as the City’s first Director of Marketing and Communication . Having been employed with the City for over three years, in 1990 he was employed by the City of Portsmouth as the Creative Services Administrator. He has also been employed by the City of Norfolk and Norfolk State University. Pace’s career spans over 20 years in the private and public sectors and academia, and he characterizes it as, “One Company, Two Cities, and One University. He is a graduate of Norfolk State University and holds a Bachelors degree from Norfolk State University. Since becoming the Director of Marketing and Communications , Pace has worked tirelessly to mend fences with businesses, community partners, and strives to create synergy and consistency in an effort to brand Portsmouth as a competitive and viable City in Hampton Roads. When asked, what is the most important attribute one has to have in the business of marketing and branding, Pace replied, “You MUST have a passion for whatever you do. I have a passion for this old seaport city and its people…and it shows. If you also have a Passion for Portsmouth…Show it!”
