Expanding Business Expands Opportunities For Others
NSC Technologies is rapidly becoming one of the leading government contractors in Hampton Roads. Paul Rodriguez started the business as a staffing company in December 2000 out of his parent's garage before finding office space on High Street in downtown Portsmouth. The company has since grown to provide an apprenticeship program for welding and now have multiple office locations in San Diego, Pearl Harbor Jacksonville, and Puerto Rico. NSC Technologies has recently expanded their High Street location and purchased two facilities located in a Hub Zone
in the Port Norfolk section of Portsmouth. One of these facilities will house the welding school where individuals will be trained to receive their welder certification, learn to read blue prints, and be introduced to other technical trades. Mr. Rodriguez wants NSC Technologies to “breed their own workforce,” by hiring Portsmouth residents and providing them with an opportunity to improve their skill set.
